About the role

  • The Dental Assistant will provide professional chair side dental assistance and clerical support services for dental services provided within correctional health at Parklea.
  • This role will support the setting and maintaining of contemporary best practice standards for dental assistants.
  • The incumbent will also work with infection control to establish and maintain effective sterilizing practices.
  • This role will work closely with the Dental Officer and the leadership team to ensure the ongoing review and management of the PAS waitlist.

About you

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • A nationally recognized Dental Assisting Certificate at Certificate IV Level or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the experience in administrative and reception duties.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of work health and safety requirements.
  • Understanding and commitment to Oral Health policies and procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

In this role you will be based at Parklea Correctional Centre.
