About the Position:

About Smiles Chatswood is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team. This part-time role offers 4 days of work per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional variation in rostered days.

You must hold a Certificate III in Dental Assisting and have a driver’s licence, as part of the role includes working in the hospital with our clinicians.

We are a modern, fast-paced 8-chair cosmetic-focused practice equipped with state-of-the-art technology. With a long-standing reputation in the community, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care and outstanding customer service to everyone who walks through our doors.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.

Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organized treatment area.

Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.

Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.

Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.

What do you need to succeed:

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to address patient concerns and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy
  • Attention to detail
