Collaroy Dental is seeking a friendly and energetic dental assistant for our fast-paced dental practice. The position is Casual/Part time for the right candidate, experience in the dental industry is notnecessary as we will provide a comprehensive training program. The applicant should be willing to develop expertise in both dental reception and dental assisting. Must be available Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7:40am-5:30pm.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and experienced in following protocols for safety, hygiene and cleanliness. The dental assistant should possess a natural excitement for helping people and making them feel comfortable. The assistant will offer support to the clinician before, during, and after patient examinations and treatments. In addition, the dental assistant will prepare rooms and equipment for all appointments and help maintain operational efficiency throughout the day.

Dental Assistant Duties Checklist:

• Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.

• Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.

• Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.

• Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.

• Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments.

• Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments

• Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies and pouring, trimming and polishing study models.

• Document dental care services by charting in patient records.

• Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

• Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed

supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.
